A few notes on the changes in LAT V5.3

- Delayed Acknowledgements have been integrated into this draft. The
information contained in various other notes in this conference has
been rolled into the LAT specification.

- An additional appendix with Service Classes 3 & 4 details.

- Enhancements to the virtual circuit layer to allow a node to operate
over multiple LAN adapters. You will notice that this operation is
not in a "round robin" fashion. The VC layer chooses a specific LAN
controller for VC operation and will only change to another controller
  under "detectable" failure conditions.

- Enhancements to the Data_B slot (including terminal size and page
length). Also, modifications to allow for terminal speeds higher
  then a 16 bit value of 65535.

- Bit definitions for modem support. ***THIS HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED***
I have noted in the spec where I wish to continue the work in this
  area.

- Added SC 1 loopback testing as per Ken Izbicki's memo for loopback
testing (found in another note in this conference). Loopback, SC 3
and 4, and delayed acknowledgements should be the only "undocumented"
features that did not appear in LAT V5.2.

- Bug fixes and clarifications.

I received this information from an ex-colleague of mine still at Digital/Compaq. He is probably one of the most knowledgable people around on LAT
